Just before Christmas last year added another piece of equipment to my growing technologicial arsenal, with a view to using it across my range of products. A Laser Engraving Machine, which linked to the computer could be used to not only personalise my range of designs (most of them anyway, some are a wee bit too fiddly) but also to make some new ones possible.
Although it’s taken a little while to really get to grips with it (and I thank god every day that I have an air-filter on my desk as vapourising ABS smells HORRIBLE) I’m more and more glad all the time I got it. My first creation was a series of laser-engraved gift tags (which I initially used for my own Xmas presents and then decided to offer to others who may want them!), and from then I realised that I could also make small name-plates for parties, wedding receptions, meetings or whatever else you wanted to use them for.
And yes, the ones in the photos WERE created while I was busy bingewatching Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD…
The latest use I’ve found for the Laser-Engraver is to enhance the TARDIS Storage Box (which will be on sale this month; enter promocode APRIL2019 for 10% off) with details too small for the 3D printers to accurately render. I’ve also used it for a couple of jewellery projects which I’m hoping to roll out very soon, as well as for personalising coasters, pendants etc specially for customers.
So many uses!
